How to use this product
- Surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry and free from grease dust or particles.
- Contact Bonding:- Apply Kwik Grip Water Based evenly over both surfaces and keep surfaces apart until the surface turns clear and becomes touch dry (up to 40 mins).
- Carefully line up surfaces to be joined keeping them apart - you can use dowels or similar. Remember, once surfaces are joined they CANNOT be repositioned. Working from one edge remove dowels and press surfaces firmly together.
- Secure bond by running a roller over the bonded surfaces or by hammering the surface from the centre outwards using a padded block.
- General bonding – use contact method or for small porous surfaces join with a wet bond by applying Kwik Grip Water Based to one surface only and immediately press together and lightly clamp or weight.
- Kwik Grip Water Based can be used as wet bond on absorbent surfaces such as timber, cardboard etc.

Handy tips
- For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with mineral turpentine and then again with methylated spirits. If there is old, difficult to remove residue such as old paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS Kwik Strip Smart. Ensure the surface is dry before applying the product.
- Keep a canister of SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes nearby for a quick and effective clean up.
- Goes on white, and turns clear when dry & ready to bond.
- Drying time can vary according to temperature, humidity and surfaces being bonded. When the film becomes clear the adhesive is ready for bonding. Maximum open time is up to 3 hours after application before bond strength is impaired.
- 500mL of Kwik Grip Water Based will cover approximately 2 square metres of one surface (May vary with porosity of surfaces).
- For vertical surfaces where dripping is of concern use SELLEYS Gel Grip.
- Use a brush, knife or serrated scraper for appheation.
- As quick Grip Waterbased is non-toxic it is great for use on craft projects.
- Clean up application tools and excess adhesive with damp cloth & water before it dries.
