How to use this product
- Surface to be repaired should be clean, dry and free from paint, grease or oil.
- Dents in steel and aluminium body work can be punched or drilled to give a positive key for Plasti-Bond if it is to be subjected to excessive vibration.
- Stir Plasti-Bond before use. Add 2.5cm of hardener to every 20mL (heaped teaspoon) of Plasti-Bond.
- Mix together thoroughly until hardener is evenly dispersed and a uniform colour is achieved. Working time varies between 3-8 minutes depending on temperature. For faster cure, or in cold weather, use more hardener.
- Apply with a putty knife, slightly overfilling to allow for sanding.
- Any excess can be smoothed off easily with a surform file or fine plane before product is rock hard (between 20 to 30 minutes). Ordinary files or sandpaper may be used once rock hard (after about 30 minutes). Feather edges for a perfect finish.
- Paint with water or oil based paints.
- Clean tools with mineral turps before product cures.
- Replace lid after use. Store in a cool place.

Handy tips
- Product requires a hardener to be added and stirred
- Once hardener is added, use product immediately
- When repairing leave dents slightly overfilled to enable sanding
- Where a faster setting time is required, add more hardener
- When colouring Plasti-Bond, mix the colour into the resin BEFORE adding the hardener as thorough mixing is required and sufficient mixing may not be achieved before the product sets if added after the catalyst.
- When colouring Plasti-Bond mix the colour with the total required amount of base for the whole job even if later used in smaller lots as this will result in a uniform colour. Matching the colour again can be difficult.
- The hardener is a catalyst and will work in even small amounts. Sufficient hardener is included to cure at least the entire kit. Add only the recommended amounts of hardener. If too much is used then you may run out of hardener before activating the entire kit.
- When using a whole kit at once measure the catalyst out carefully as excess hardener is often provided in the kit.
- Product heats up significantly and sets faster when used in large quantites. When mixing a whole larger kit ensure that this heat is taken into account when choosing materials, working times, application methods and containers.
