All Clear®

Uses

Selleys All Clear is a multipurpose sealant. It can be used on metals, most plastics, painted and masonry substrates. It can be used on many wet substrates.* It can be used on metals even if they have an oily surface film typical on new metals e.g. Zincalume®, galvanised iron.

Some applications would include sealing and repairing roofs, awnings, skylights, ceramic tiles, gutters and downpipes, around window frames, plumbing entrances, vinyl or aluminium siding and roof flashings, sealing leaks in caravans and recreation vehicles, and waterproof bedding for glass when reglazing windows.

Technical Features

• High performance co-polymer rubber based
• Glass-like clarity
• Multipurpose sealant – adheres to most substrates and many wet surfaces
• Neutral cure – will not attack metal or concrete type substrates

• Good paintability – can be overpainted immediately with water based paints

• Remove dried sealant from skin by gently rubbing with petroleum jelly

Application Tips

• Cannot be used on polystyrene foam
• Should not be used in an enclosed space or without ventilation
• In very cold weather cartridge must be conditioned to room temperature before use
• Not recommended for permanent water immersion or water containment structures
• Must be first painted with water based paint prior to painting with oil based paints
• All Clear cures relatively slowly (0.1mm per day)
• All Clear will not adhere through frost or ice

Paintability

• Water based paints: Good
• Alkyd Paints: Good, after first undercoating with a water based paint. Unless first coated with a water based paint the sealant adversely affects drying of alkyd paints.

Adhesion

Tests were conducted on brass, copper, Zincalume?, galvanised iron, mild steel, anodised aluminium, milled aluminium, copperised sheet lead, Alsynite fibreglass roofing, Malthoid – asbestos reinforced bitumen, terrazzo, marble, cured concrete, nylon, PVC, glass, marine plywood and pine wood.

Satisfactory adhesion is achieved to all of above substrates.

Flammability

Uncured sealant – flammable cured sealant – will burn if ignited

Service Temperature Range

Suitable for use under normal temperatures reached on roofing materials in service.

Maximum service temperature 80oC.

Application Temperature

In very cold weather All Clear should be conditioned to room temperature before use to make gunning easier

Cleaning up

Clean up tools and spills before sealant cures with mineral turps or white spirit
