Repairing ABS or Polycarbonate luggage

I have a hard sided suitcase that was damaged whilst in transit by an airline. The airline concerned arranged for a replacement. The damaged item has a split about 150mm in it and rather than just bin it I wondered if it could be repaired. A possibility is to glue another piece either plastic or aluminium on the inside of the case. Is this feasible or should I just toss it out?

If the plastic is ABS you could try Araldite 5 Minute epoxy to effect a repair but You may find that the plastic is Polypropylene or Polyethylene in which case it will be almost impossible to repair. Moulded plastics are often difficult to glue. The above are suggestions only and may or may not work.
