The heating strips were glued on by the installer over time & held in place with dabs of adhesive of some sort. Over time, some of that adhesive has failed & the strips have saged down the pitch of the roof & may be the cause of the roof leaking we're experiencing as the strips may be resulting in a build up of water above them which is then flowing back into the roof.

This type of solar pool heating is often bonded in place using a silicone sealant. We recommend our Roof and Gutter Silicone silicone for this application. It is a good idea to do it in vertical beads spaced evenly apart as a continuous bead will seal it to the roof and prevent the water from flowing underneath.
